TECHNOPARK KALIBR ON THE BRICS AGENDA: DELEGATES FROM FIVE COUNTRIES DISCUSSED PARTNERSHIP IN THE FIELD OF TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
The delegation of Technopark “Kalibr” took part in special events in the field of technology and innovation, which took place from September 10 to 21 in China.
The business program started on September 10, when the second meeting of the BRICS countries working group on partnerships in science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship was held in Kunming in Yunnan Province. During the meeting, the participants discussed the cooperation among BRICS countries, including the establishment of a “database of professionals of the BRICS countries” and the prospects for the establishment of a technology transfer center. The meeting was organized by the People’s Government of Kunming City. The meeting was attended by more than 50 representatives of administrative institutions in charge of science, technology and innovation, heads of research departments of leading universities and representatives of organizations for innovative cooperation of all the BRICS countries.
On September 11, the Head of Technopark Kalibr, Kristina Zarubina, took part in the BRICS Forum on Technology Transfer and Innovative Cooperation, giving a presentation on the site's capabilities in the context of BRICS technology transfer center establishment. Great attention of the audience, represented by more than 200 representatives of Chinese and foreign companies, was attracted by the brilliant examples of interaction between Technopark tenants and companies from the BRICS countries. Projects implemented by Technopark Kalibr tenants on the territory of the BRICS countries cover such areas as aircraft construction, telecommunication technologies, and textile industry.
Additionally, the Chinese audience was presented the innovative developments of companies form the BRICS countries. One of the leading speakers was Valentin Natarov, director for science at Genterra, technopark Kalibr tenant. The main activities of the company are the production of synthetic oligonucleotides (short fragments of artificial DNA), the development and implementation of reagents for molecular diagnostics.
The delegation of Technopark “Kalibr” took part in a large-scale technological tour of the innovative infrastructure of Yunnan and Guangzhou provinces. Business talks were held with representatives of the Yunnan Biological Business Incubator, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, KUNMING YUNNEI POWER CO. - the largest Chinese enterprise in the field of mechanical engineering, etc.
On September 18, the First International Conference on the Digital Economy and the “Digital” Silk Road was held in Hangzhou. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from more than 40 countries.
Representatives from China, the Republic of Korea, the Czech Republic, Laos, Serbia, Malaysia spoke at the conference, their presentations focused on the future of the digital economy and the joint implementation of the 21st Century Digital Silk Road project, and experts shared practical experiences of cooperation in the digital economy.
The final stage of the business mission was a visit to a forum organized by Alibaba. During the forum, the delegates were presented the main trends in the development of digital technologies, and meetings with the top management of Alibaba were organized.
