OPENING CEREMONY OF ROTORK PRODUCTION AND LOGISTICS COMPLEX IN KALIBR TECHNOPARK: HOW IT WAS
On October 31, 2018, solemn opening ceremony of Rotork new production and logistics complex in Russia took place on the territory of Kalibr Technopark. The event was attended by the representatives of leading companies in oil and gas and petrochemical industries: Sibur Holding, Lukoil, Rosneft, MCC Eurochem, as well as manufacturers of block equipment and pipeline fittings. The guest of honor was His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, a member of the British royal family. Chairman of the board of directors Mikhail Kogan, member of the board of directors Andrey Kanunikov, general director Sergey Sevostianov, head of Technopark Kristina Zarubina, and the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow Aleksey Fursin and Deputy Member of Moscow City Government Kristina Volkonitskaya also became the special guests.
Opening the event with welcome speech, General Director of Rotork RUS LLC Simon Brown thanked the guests for their presence and spoke about the new complex, which will produce a full range of pneumatic and hydraulic drives, control systems, as well as common industrial drives CK and gearboxes. Simon Brown noted that the opening of the production and logistics complex is only the first stage of the localization program in response to the wishes and suggestions of customers. This is an important step forward in delivering cost-effective solutions with accurate delivery times and with the highest possible level of quality that Rotork is renowned around the world. The Director General stressed that in 2019 additional equipment and test benches will be installed, as well as the number of employees will be increased.
The area of the new production and logistics complex is 1600 sq.m., the production capacity of the enterprise allows to produce up to 6000 drives per year. During the excursion, guests were presented areas of incoming inspection of components and materials, blank production, sections of drive assembly, service area and section of output control with test benches for electric, pneumatic and hydraulic drives. At the Rotork equipment exhibition, guests were shown a unique EH electro-hydraulic drive, developed by special order for Transneft on a ball valve DN 1000 with a torque of 116,000 Nm, closing time 20 seconds, opening time 88.5 seconds, weight 3.7 tons. LLC Rotork RUS uses both imported and Russian components. The drives produced have a high potential for import substitution of components, Rotork RUS LLC is currently actively developing cooperation with Russian suppliers sharing the vision and quality standards of Rotork.
