On June 17, BrazilTechAward (BTA) presentation, a prize awarded to high-tech companies in order to attract them to the Brazilian market, took place on the territory of Kalibr technopark.
The event was organized by the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow, jointly with Kalibr JSC and the Brazilian company GrupoCASA, and attracted about 50 guests, including representatives of start-ups, scales, accelerators and investors. Christian Vargas, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Brazil, and Chairman of Board of Directors, Kalibr JSC, M.A. Kogan, head of the Apex-Brasil Brazilian Export Promotion Agency in Moscow, Almir Ribeiro Americo, vice-president of InfoWatch GK Rustem Hayretdinov and Grupo CASA representative Darlan Moraes.

Minister-Counselor Christian Vargas opened the event, thanking the organizers, and in a welcoming speech, stressed the importance of scientific and technological cooperation in the development of relations between Russia and Brazil. He described the history of cooperation in the space field as an example of such a successful interaction and expressed confidence that Brazil would make the necessary efforts to bring together the innovation ecosystems of the two countries with great potential.

In his speech, Mr Kogan focused on the active cooperation of Kalibr Technopark with the BRICS countries via the tenant companies since 2016 and recalled that delegation of managers and employees of Brazilian technoparks visited Kalibr Technopark during an official visit to Russia in 2008. He thanked the representatives of the Embassy of Brazil and Grupo CASA for organizing the event and wished to strengthen the long-term cooperation with Brazil and the implementation of all the joint projects that had been planned.

Apex-Brasil representative from the Brazilian Export Development Agency, Almir Ribeiro American, and InfoWatch representative Rustem Hayretdinov highlighted Brazil’s great potential and the attractiveness of the local market for the Russian companies, as well as the need to spread the experience of successful innovation projects to foreign markets.

Darlan Moraes told about Brazil Tech Award in details. The winning company will receive a premium of £ 70,000 for services to implement soft-landing in São Paulo. He noted that the competition is a reflection of the Latam Edge Award and is aimed at strengthening the Brazilian innovation market. Regardless of participation in the Brazil Tech Award, all interested companies will be able to attend the finalists' performance, which will be held in Sao Paulo on November 27 of this year, and present their projects at the stands provided by the organizers of the High Technology Week in São Paulo 2019.

After the presentations, a question and answer session was held, during which representatives of the Russian companies could learn more about the competition and features of the Brazilian market. In conclusion, the participants were offered a coffee break, and the organizers and guests exchanged contacts and opinions in a less formal setting.
