The first Russian electric car with a prototype power plant based on hydrogen fuel cells will be presented by Kalibr technopark tenant
Ev-Tech LLC will present its technology at the Moscow International Forum “Open Innovations” for the firts time. LADA Ellada car model becase a basis for a prototype.
A unique electric motor without permanent magnets and a hybrid power plant that includes a 24 kWh battery and a system based on fuel cells with high-pressure hydrogen cylinders that provide energy consumption of 20 kW * h were installed in the car. This system was developed jointly with the NTI Competence Center at IPCP RAS and InEnergy LLC.
Earlier, a prototype electric vehicle with a power plant based on hydrogen-air fuel cells received the Avtonet award in the nomination On-Board Devices and Systems.
The fuel cell-based power plant provides an electric vehicle mileage of up to 300 km, which is sufficient for urban vehicles. It should be noted that in this electric vehicle cylinders of a relatively small volume were used, namely 48 liters with a working pressure of 330 atm. Subsequent development of the car’s design, taking into account the requirements of a fuel cell-based power plant, will significantly increase the volume of hydrogen storage tanks, which will ensure the car’s autonomy up to 650-800 km. The project is being implemented as part of the preparation of the project “Hydrogen Road from Moscow to Kazan” of the National Technology Initiative.
Electric transport on fuel cells ensures noiselessness and environmental friendliness. The next step of the company will be a production of a line of hydrogen power plants for commercial vehicles - minivans, light vehicles, utility vehicles, buses, heavy trucks, electric trains.
The environmentally friendly electric vehicle with a prototype of a hydrogen fuel cell-based power plant can be seen at the 8th Moscow International Forum “Open Innovations”, which will be held from October 21 to October 23 at the Skolkovo Innovation Center. Kalibr Technopark residents t are open for cooperation with car manufacturers and customers of public and commercial transport services.
