Results of the Webinar "Ethics of Using Big Data"

Kalibr Technopark and the MCCI Committee on Industrial and Innovation Policy, together with the National Center for Digital Economy of Moscow State University, held a webinar on the topic "Ethics of using big data".

The current level of development of information technology allows governments of states and large companies to constantly accumulate large amounts of data. Large amounts of information led to the development of the idea of big data.

Although this technology has many positive features, it also raises a number of ethical problems. On the one hand, technology helps in many areas: medicine, finance, education, etc. But people will have to live in a world where there will be no place for privacy and where their privacy will be limited. In a global sense, the problem is how people will use the data they receive.

The webinar was opened by Mikhail Kogan, Chairman of the Committee, and Suren Vardanyan, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Participants of the event - Andrey Neznamov, Managing Director of the AI Regulation Center of Sberbank, Maxim Fedorov, Vice President for AI and Mathematical Modeling of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) , Ivan Begtin, Director of ANO Informatsionnaya Kultura.

The event was continued by a panel discussion moderated by Yury Khokhlov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for the Development of the Information Society, Head of the Data Subcommittee of the Technical Committee TC 164 Artificial Intelligence.

The participants in the discussion were Vera Adaeva, Director of the Digital Development Center of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Yaroslav Eferin, Consultant of the Global Practice for Digital Development of the World Bank, and Alexander Raikov, Head of the Department of Intelligent Technologies at the National Center for Digital Economy of Moscow State University.
