MASTERPIECES OF THE TRETYAKOV GALLERY ON SILK RADICAL CHIC
Collaboration of the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian accessory brand Radical Chic (tenant of Kalibr Technopark, the Solstudio company) - a collection of silk scarves inspired by the masterpieces of Russian painting from the museum collection.
Not every painting can become a textile work. When the author writes his canvas, he does not assume that in the future his descendants and fans will want to move it to other objects, to use the work more widely than it was originally intended.
The new collection is based on five works: "A Woman with a Rake" by Kazimir Malevich; "Spanish Woman with a Fan" and "Peacock in the Bright Sun (Egyptian Style)" by Natalia Goncharova; "Basil the Blessed" by Aristarkh Lentulov; "Horse Racing" by Georgy Yakulov.
Zelfira Tregulova, General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery: “The scarves of the Radical Chic company based on the works of Russian artists from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery are an example of the highest professionalism in working with the original source, which in the hands of designers is transformed into an ideal pattern inscribed in a square of the format. It is also about high standards of printing on fabrics that convey the characteristics of the original, down to the smallest detail. This is the company's extreme exactingness to everything they do, and we are very pleased with the new stage of cooperation with Radical Chic, a Russian company whose products are not inferior to the best world samples".
The interpenetration of art and fashion for several seasons remains a relevant global trend. We wanted to create striking works that correspond to modern perception. The Radical Chic design studio conducts regular analytics of the textile environment: we look at how textiles are changing in relation to changes in society.
«Every time we come into contact with the gallery's richest heritage, which makes our hearts sink, and are faced with a choice, we want to make a project that corresponds to the realities of the time, meeting our view and the expectations of the audience. The task was to create fabric, scarves and we chose works at first glance, completely different in nature, but related to the fact that they reflect modern textile trends», - talks about the creation of the collection by Alexandra Kaloshina, the founder of the Radical Chic brand and the textile design studio Solstudio Textile Design.
Kazimir Malevich's work "Woman with a Rake" (1930-1931). The Russian avant-garde continues to inspire contemporary artists. The designers took an innovative approach to the composition of the scarf, leaving the main figure in focus, and chose a dense, rich "sporty" color.
