Public Trust is an Indispensable Condition for Successful Work with Big Data

Kalibr Technopark and the MCCI Committee on Industrial and Innovation Policy held an online meeting on the topic: "Big Data: technologies that change lives" on February 25, 2021 on Zoom.

Recently the most active business community is discussing the topic of big data. Today, big data contributes to the development of information technologies, since with the advent and massive use of the Internet, information becomes more and more. The term “big data” itself generates a lot of controversy, since “big data” is not limited only by the amount of accumulated information, but also has a technical side of the issue, for example, technologies for collection, processing and storage. When considering this topic, it is necessary to take into account all aspects and consider the topic of big data in an integrated manner.

The meeting was opened by Mikhail Kogan, Chairman of the MCCI Committee on Industrial and Innovation Policy, and Suren Vardanyan, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to the chairman of the Committee, one of the main issues is the storage and security of the use of big data.

The meeting participants - the head of Biometric Labs Alexey Frolov, the general director of ATF MEDIA Edgar Grigoryan, Yuri Khokhlov the head of the Data subcommittee of the TC 164 Artificial Intelligence technical committee  and the consultant on digital transformation of the World Bank Yaroslav Eferin - discussed issues related to the definition of the term big data, methods of their collection and analysis, standardization, as well as issues of ethics of data use and international experience in regulating this problem.
