The Formula IT Program Shows How to Create a Project and Attract Funding

At the beginning of July Kalibr Technopark hosted a presentation of the projects of the graduates of the first cohort of the Formula IT acceleration program, initiated by Innopraktika in 2021. For 8 weeks the program participants formed 11 teams that submitted the created projects to the investment community.

● «Deep Film Production» - a new video processing service that helps to modify the video sequence, for example, present a video in the style of one of the famous artists. The project is focused on the requests of companies creating advertising.

● «Tiqum» - HR service, thanks to which companies can provide automated mass recruitment of personnel (for example, salespeople, stewards, drivers, etc.).

●         «WonderHome» - a solution with which it is possible to supplement the uninterruptible power supply system with the Smart Control module.

●  «PRAVOAI» - a service that makes it possible to quickly evaluate and offer a solution to minimize legal risks when registering intellectual property rights.

●  «Bgarlic» - Health & Food tech solution that defines new approaches to fermentation and the creation of beneficial properties of food.

●  «Цифра» - an online service that allows large and medium-sized businesses to maintain a high level of digital literacy.

●    «Lemon» and «Business Process Designer» – business process designers for new business projects.

●         «Winvestor» - marketplace of investment products (business case).

●         «Pulse» - an IT communications platform that significantly reduces average check and improves communications to attract and serve retail and service business customers.

●  «Babysemantika» - a service that allows children to explore the world with the help of voice assistants.

The teams fought for the main prize of the program - project funding. The jury, which determined the lucky winner of the grant, included accredited experts from the Moscow Seed Fund (Moscow Venture Investment Development Fund): Lyubov Simonova - Director of the Technology Development project office of Rostelecom; Evgeny Borisov - partner and development director of the Kama Flow private investment fund; Aleksandr Veresov - Advisor to the Executive Director for Science of the Innopraktika Non-State Development Institute; Natalia Podsosonnaya - General Director of Savings and Investments Management Company JSC; Sergey Sevostyanov - General Director of PJSC Kalibr - infrastructure partner of the Formula IT program and Ekaterina Eliseeva - head of the Formula IT program.

Alexey Kostrov, Executive Director of the Moscow Seed Fund, announced the choice of the jury - to finance a new educational service called Babysemantika, which allows children to explore the world with the help of voice assistants. The team plans to use the funding provided by the Foundation to develop the project.

The Babysemantika Team showed a clear action plan, readiness to implement the project on its own and voiced its investment needs. In this project, I see a great potential for the development and use of information technologies in order to make learning interesting and as useful as possible for children of preschool and school age. The project has social significance, I voted for this team, explained Ekaterina Eliseeva.

The distinctive feature of the Babysemantika project is the detailed elaboration of dialogues and interfaces for the child. “Our team plans to make every effort for the successful implementation of the project. We had the desire to create our own startup even before the start of the Formula IT program, and passing the accelerator and receiving a grant from the Moscow City Venture Investment Development Fund significantly strengthened it. The program helped us come to an investment idea and successfully present the project to investors. We gained knowledge about the structure of the market, the educational part of the program helped to reflect the concept and financial plan, and working with the tracker - to quickly study successful cases, requests of industrial partners and not slow down the pace of creating our startup, - co-founder of the project Elizaveta Volkhina comments on her participation.

The organizers of the program appreciated the confidence of the teams in their abilities. “I liked the involvement of the Formula IT accelerator participants and their work results. The teams managed to find an approach in which, on the one hand, they are guided by large markets, and on the other hand, they offer solutions to the problems of industrial partners of the program, ”emphasized Mark Trifonov, Deputy Director of Development Projects Directorate at Innopraktika, organizer of Formula IT.

General Director of PJSC Kalibr Sergey Sevostyanov presented the participants of the program with certificates providing free use of the infrastructure of the technopark. Thanks to the platform, program graduates will be able to organize pilots of projects with a technopark and offer their solutions to the anchor residents of Kalibra. Sergey Sevostyanov separately noted the "Digit" project in the nomination "The best project in the opinion of the program partners".

“In the process of working on projects, we saw a great interest of customers in the solutions Tsifra and Tiqum. The Tsifra solution allows you to create unique content and conduct courses in the field of digital literacy, for example, training on handling confidential information and personal data. This project meets the needs of Russian companies. The Tiqum solution enables an intellectual assessment and verification of job seekers when recruiting personnel. Tiqum targets the international market. The team brought together guys studying at universities in Canada and Great Britain," said Alexander Loktionov, CEO of LOGA Group, operator of the Formula IT program.

The Formula IT accelerator allows you to customize the proposals of teams creating new solutions to the needs of industrial customers. To participate in the program, new participants just need to submit an application to the program, and for industrial partners to announce current business tasks. The accelerator operator will independently select the participants and form a team with relevant experience for each business task. Up to 30 start-up teams are formed annually in the accelerator. Every year 300 specialists enter the acceleration program, who study and offer about 45 solutions to business problems of industrial partners of Formula IT.

The main criteria for selecting business tasks are high implementation potential and wide market coverage. Participants need to offer a non-trivial solution.

Among the customers of the Formula IT accelerator are a number of large companies. For example, in 2019 the Liters company found a solution to its business problems in the accelerator, in 2020 the LG company joined the program for the purpose of scouting, and in 2021 "Raiffeisen Bank" participates in the project. More than 30 industrial partners act as customers of the program.
