KALIBR TECHNOPARK ESTABLISHES TIES WITH PORTUGUESE TECHNOLOGY PARKS

On January 30, the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the state-owned company Baia do Tejo S.A. (Portuguese Republic). The meeting was conducted on the territory of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The president of the Portuguese company, Jacinto Pereira, made a presentation whose purpose was to demonstrate the advantages of investing in Portugal. The trump card of the republic is its strategic geographical location. Lisbon is a European platform for cooperation with Africa, North and South America. ICTP Vice President Suren Vardanyan noted that Russia is regaining its economic and political presence in Africa. He mentioned the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, which took place in Sochi and was attended by senior executives - presidents of 44 countries. “Cooperation between Russian, Moscow companies and Portuguese companies in the framework of African market, including  technological projects, is not just permissible, but optimal,” Suren Vardanyan emphasized.

Mr. Jasinto Pereira noted that among the competitive advantages of Portugal are also human resources, well-developed infrastructure (3rd place in Europe on broadband Internet and 4th place on the development of the road network), as well as security - 3rd place in the world among the safest countries.

In addition, investors should be interested in the possibility of obtaining a residence permit, a competitive tax regime - tax benefits for non-residents, job places and rehabilitation of cities, as well as flexible labor laws.

MCCI Vice President Suren Vardanyan was especially interested in the possibility of registering a new company in just 45 minutes.

Moscow representatives were interested in a story about two industrial parks in Lisbon - port and logistics, industrial and technological platforms, including 275 companies.

Kristina Zarubina, Head of Kalibr Technopark, asked the guests about requirements for a foreign company to become a resident of the technopark in Lisbon. It turned out that there are no special requirements besides real business interest. Portuguese technology parks can host a company in any industry.

Summing up the meeting, a detailed comment was given by the Strategy Director of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ Arslan Ayupov. “We are a special economic zone and work more not with start-ups, but with ready-made companies that directly produce products. <....> ”, said Arslan Ayupov.
